Steps top the UK albums chart, scoring No.1 albums across four consecutive decades
Steps’ Platinum Collection has shot to the top of the UK albums chart, making them the first British mixed-gender group to score a No.1 album across four consecutive decades.
“We could NOT be more thrilled that our Platinum Collection is this week’s UK official No.1 album,” said the band. “We have the best fans in the world, and this is all down to their incredible support. It’s unbelievable to think that we’ve now broken records, scoring four No.1 albums across four consecutive decades! What a way to celebrate our 25th birthday.”
Claire, Faye, H, Lee and Lisa, also known as Steps, are one of the UK’s most successful and loved acts. The Platinum Collection includes the No.1 singles ‘Heartbeat/Tragedy’ and ‘Stomp’, plus recent tracks ‘Scared Of The Dark’ and ‘What The Future Holds’, alongside classics including ‘One For Sorrow’, ‘5,6,7,8’ and ‘Deeper Shade of Blue’.
