Sony Music wins at the Young Music Boss Awards 2022
The Young Music Boss (YMB) Awards took place last night at EartH Theatre in Hackney, with more than 400 industry executives, artists, and other professionals in attendance.
The YMB Awards recognise outstanding achievements of rising music industry stars under the age of 35. Hosted by Monikah Lee, awards were presented by the likes of Taponeswa Mavunga (Director of Africa, Sony Music UK) and Glyn Aikins (President, Since ‘93).
JAE5 won the Best Producer award and Columbia’s Christel Kayibi was crowned Best Lawyer. Preye Crooks received two of the night’s awards: Best Live Music Platform for the Strawberries & Creem festival he co-founded, and Best A&R.
“Giving recognition to young executive talent, commemorating both potential and achievement, is an important aspect of incentivising and energising future generations,” said Jusnah Gadi, Founder of Young Music Boss and the YMB Awards, speaking at the end of the evening.
“Tonight was a celebration of individuals who are really trailblazing and innovating our industry, we really look forward to future years and what we can achieve with this platform.”
