Sony Music artists nominated at the 2020 MOBO Awards
Nominations for the 2020 MOBO Awards have been announced, with artists including J Hus, Headie One, Young T & Bugsey and Koffee among the honourees.
The awards, which celebrate Black music and culture, will take place on 9th December hosted by Maya Jama and Chunkz. Headie One is set to perform at the event.
J Hus has scored three nominations following the release of his No.1 album Big Conspiracy, including Best Male Act, Best Hip Hop Act and Album of the Year. The record’s producer, JAE 5, is up for Best Producer.
Headie One and Young T & Bugsey are also in the running for Best Male Act, while their collaboration ‘Don’t Rush’ is up for Song of the Year.
Koffee and H.E.R. have been shortlisted for Best International Act, with Koffee picking up a second nomination for Best Reggae Act. DaVido and WizKid both received recognition in the Best African Act category, while rising stars Loski, M1llionz and Shaybo have all been nominated for Best Newcomer.
The winners of Song of the Year, Best Grime Act, Best Newcomer, Best African Act and Best International Act will be decided by the public – vote for your favourites at voting.mobo.com.
The independent MOBO Awards judging panel will determine the nominees and winners for the remaining categories.
The MOBO Awards ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube at 7pm and broadcast on BBC One at 10.45pm on 9th December. The full list of Sony Music nominees is below.
