Elvis becomes the most successful solo artist in UK chart history
Elvis Presley has become the most successful solo artist of all time in the UK.
Elvis’ latest release The Wonder of You has shot straight to the top of the UK album chart, giving the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll his 13th number 1 UK album – making him, officially, the single most successful solo artist in UK chart history.
The Wonder of You executive producer Priscilla Presley said, “this achievement is something I know Elvis would have been so thankful for. I am incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and so grateful to the UK fans who have kept his legacy alive with all of their support. I hope they continue to listen and love his music as much as I do.”
The Wonder of You, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, is the follow-up to 2015’s chart topping, million selling If I Can Dream album.
This historic achievement comes almost 40 years since Elvis Presley’s death.
