Declan McKenna teams up with ASOS for ‘Barefoot in Brazil’
Declan McKenna has teamed up with ASOS and filmmaker Christine Yuan to create a mini documentary, as part of the global ASOS Supports Talent initiative.
Barefoot in Brazil sees Declan explore the music scene in Rio, meeting and jamming with local musicians including Josbi, Gorduratrans, Mulheres de Buco and Vkira.
Commenting on the project, Declan said, “the plan is to highlight young musicians and go against stereotypes of young people in terms of politics and the world around them. Also helping young people to collaborate and create things with people that they otherwise wouldn’t meet. I’m doing this in Rio, in Brazil, and trying to bring back some of the attention that got lost after the World Cup and the Olympics.”
Premiered at a London showcase, the documentary is now available to watch on YouTube.
