George Roger Waters is an English singer, songwriter, bassist, and composer. In 1965, he co-founded the iconic progressive rock band Pink Floyd with drummer Nick Mason, keyboardist Richard Wright, and guitarist, singer and songwriter Syd Barrett.
Waters launched his solo career in 1984 with The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking followed by two other albums, before releasing the three-part opera Ça Ira in 2005. In 2017 he released the rock album Is This the Life We Really Want?, reaching No.3 in the UK charts.
In 2018, Waters was presented with the prestigious O2 Silver Clef Award for his contribution to music.
