Comprising iconic frontman Jimi Hendrix, drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Noel Redding, The Jimi Hendrix Experience released their debut single ‘Hey Joe’ in 1967.
The track was swiftly followed by their first album, Are You Experienced, featuring songs including ‘Purple Haze’, ‘The Wind Cries Mary’ and ‘Foxey Lady’.
The group went on to release two other LPs, Axis: Bold as Love and Electric Ladyland.
