George Michael inducted to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
George Michael was honoured last night with his formal induction into the 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Artists must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before they are eligible for induction and are voted on by more than 1,000 artists, historians and music industry professionals. The former Wham! frontman won a fan poll, picking up 1.04 million votes, which was counted alongside official ballots in deciding this year’s inductees. His induction comes 40 years after the release of Wham!’s debut album, Fantastic.
Following his death in 2016, George Michael remains one of the best-selling artists of all time and leaves an incredible legacy as a singer, songwriter, producer, and philanthropist.
