Nothing But Thieves share video for new single ‘Real Love Song’

Nothing But Thieves have shared the music video for their new single ‘Real Love Song’, taken from their forthcoming album Moral Panic.

Interspersing mesmerising animation with performance footage from the band, the Basak Erol-directed video tells the story of three characters seeking love in the wrong places.

“As an audience, we are often presented something that is excessive or overblown, especially when it comes to love stories,” the band said. “We wanted the video to capture the irony of the song whilst making sure it was still affecting.

“This is a song within a song and the video, with its nods to the modern relationship and its sensationalised band moments, tell two sides of the same story. Where does the cynicism end and the real begin?

“It was amazing to work with Basak and her team who totally got where we were going and created a story that works on these different levels. This is a love song, so what?”

‘Real Love Song’ and recent single ‘Is Everybody Going Crazy? are the first songs to be taken from Nothing But Thieves’ upcoming album Moral Panic, which will be released on 23rd October.

The album will follow their 2018 EP What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? and their 2017 album Broken Machine, which reached at No.2 in the UK albums chart.

The past few years have been quite a ride for Nothing But Thieves, seeing them amass over 700,000 album sales and 750 million streams as well as selling out their worldwide Broken Machineheadline tour. The band have also performed on US TV shows including ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’ and ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, after their self-titled album became the bestselling debut from a British rock band in the US in 2015.
